Winter Conference on Business Intelligence (http://gkmc.utah.edu/winter/) provides a unique forum for exchanging creative research ideas/findings/perspectives as well as building strong synergy among leading information systems researchers and business executives. Through papers, panels, and discussions we will highlight the data-centric challenges and opportunities for creating business strategies. The conference will provide abundant opportunities for feedback and dialogue among participants --- either at the conference venue or while racing down the slopes of scenic Wasatch mountains.
Conference topics include but are not limited to the following:
Participants will have authorized access to soft copies of papers and presentation slides. The conference does not publish proceedings but provides researchers valuable opportunities to receive detailed feedback and constructive comments for paper revisions and submissions to prestigious research outlets.
Important Dates
Deadline for submission of paper summary*: Nov 30, 2009
Decision on paper selection: Dec 21, 2009
Deadline for speakers' conference registrations: Feb 26, 2010
Deadline for complete papers: February 26, 2010
*The paper summary (< 1,000 words) should include: (1) research question (2) approach (3) main findings/expected contributions, and (4) current status of manuscript. We invite both preliminary and mature works for presentation at the conference.
Conference registration will cover meals and transportation between the meeting facility and the snow sports/event venues. The conference closing dinner will be a seafood dinner buffet at one of Zagat's America's Top Restaurants – Snow Park Lodge at Deer Valley with lots of favorite food items available to vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Box lunches will be distributed before departures for optional snow sports during breaks. Lodging and the sessions will be hosted at the University Guest House on the beautiful campus of University of Utah. Participants will be responsible for lodging, travel and snow sports costs in addition to conference registration.
